Momonjii
Momonjii
Momonjii (百々爺 – Old Man Momo) is a type of Yōkai depicted in the Konjaku Gazu Zoku Hyakki by Toriyama Sekien.
Sekien muses that the creation of its name was from the combination of two other yōkai. The Nobusama, which is also known as momonga, and the Gagoji.
When a thick fog and strong winds form, and no-one is around, Momonji will take the form of an old man to walk around. Should you come across him you will fall ill.1
