Aosagi no hi

Aosagi no hi (青鷺火 – Heron Fire) is a type of Yōkai depicted in the Konjaku Gazu Zoku Hyakki by Toriyama Sekien.

This creature is apparently a very old heron. It is said that aged herons have wings that would shine during the night. Their eyes are also said to shine and they were reported to have had very sharp beaks.

Aged grey herons wings shine at night. Eyes shine, and they have sharp beaks.1
