Kosenjō no hi

Kosenjō no hi (古戦場火– Old Battle Ground Fire) is a type of Yōkai depicted in the Konjaku Gazu Zoku Hyakki by Toriyama Sekien.

This creature is a type of fire which is said to find its origins on the fields of battle. In places where thousands of people are known to have died, the blood which was spilt here gives rise to these strange fires.1
