Jakotsubaba
Jakotsubaba
Jakotsubaba (蛇骨婆 – Snakebone Hag) is a type of yōkai depicted in the Konjaku Hyakki Shūi.
The story concerning this creature related by Toriyama Sekien says that perhaps it comes from northern China as there are people there who bear a blue snake in their right hand and a red in their left.
He also says that in one tale it says she was the wife of ‘Jagoemon of Snakemound’.1
