Tajima Province

Tajima Province (但馬国) is one of the many Provinces which once existed in Japan.

Legendary Period

During the 3rd year in the reign of Emperor Suinin, Prince Amanohihoko arrives with a gift of three gems (Habuto, Ashidaka and Ukaka) as well as an Idzushi short sword, Idzushi spear, sun mirror, and Kumahimorogi. These were stored in Tajima and made divine items. They were later ordered to be brought to Suinin, and were brought to him by Kiyohiko.1

Yamanobe no Ohotaka passed through here on his way to catch a swan for the Prince Homutsuwake.2
