Kanayamabiko

Kanayamabiko (金山毘古神 – Metal Mountain Lad) is a kami born from the vomit of Izanami in her death throws after being burnt by giving birth to Kagutsuchi. This is mentioned in the kojiki and nihongi.¹²

He is the brother of Kanayamahime.¹

The Engi Rites list shrines to him in Riversides and Fine Soil.¹

The nihongi gives him no sister, but does agrees the kami came from Izanami’s vomit.²
