Isa Tomomune

Isa Tomomune, later Date Tomomune (伊達 朝宗) was the founder of the Date Clan.

He founded the clan after aiding Minamoto no Yoritomo defeat his brother Yoshitsune in 1189 and after was gifted with the Date District of Mutsu Province from which he took the name.¹²
