Kasa Kanamura
Kasa Kanamura (笠 [朝臣] 金村) is a known poet who had several poems in the Man’yōshū. He is known to have been active fl.715-733 and his poetry has been ranked as that of the same class as Kurumamochi no Chitose and Yamabe no Akahito.
Miller (1981) cites two Kanji in his name [朝臣], but does not elaborate upon them. However, these Kanji translate as Ason. This was a high level rank given to people under the Kabane System.1
