Fujiwara no Kusuko

Fujiwara no Kusuko (藤原 薬子) was a member of the Fujiwara Clan, more specifically the Shikike Branch of this clan, known to have died in 810AD. She was daughter to Fujiwara no Tanetsugu and concubine to Emperor Heizei.

She took part in the plot to restore Heizei (after he had abdicated) back to the throne and re-establish the captial at Heijō-kyō. She ultimately poisons herself when the plot is discovered and dies.

Kusuko also was known as Fujiwara no Kuzushi.1
