Road Wardens of Yomi

The Road Wardens of Yomi are a collection of beings mentioned in one alternative version of the Nihongi are a residents of Yomi.

In this version they appear at the Even Pass of Yomi after Izanagi has fled from his wife after seeing her rotting body.

They give him a message from his wife that they will no longer create islands together (ie. they are now divorced and will no longer create islands through sexual congress).¹
