<h3>Fujiwara no Yasuhira</h3>
<p><strong>Fujiwara no Yasuhira </strong>(<span title="Japanese-language text"><span lang="ja">藤原 泰衡</span></span>) was a member of the <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/fujiwara-clan/">Fujiwara Clan</a> living from 1155-1189AD. He was the son of <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/fujiwara-no-hidehira/">Fujiwara no Hidehira</a>.</p>
<p>During his lifetime he is known to have betrayed his father who had given refuge to <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/minamoto-no-yoshitsune" class="broken_link">Minamoto no Yoshitsune</a>. Yoshitsune was attacked, forcing him and all his warriors to commit suicide in the <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/battle-of-koromogawa" class="broken_link">Battle of Koromogawa</a>. Later <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/minamoto-no-yoritomo" class="broken_link">Minamoto no Yoritomo</a> tried to have him punished but he flees to <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/hokkaido" class="broken_link">Hokkaido</a>. In Hokkaido he is then assassinated by one of his warriors called <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/kawada-no-jiro" class="broken_link">Kawada no Jirō</a> in 1189 in battle against Minamoto no Yoritomo.</p>
<p>His head was found under the main alter of <a class="broken_link" href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/konjiki-do">Konjiki-dō</a> at <a class="broken_link" href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/chuson-ji">Chūson-ji</a>, <a class="broken_link" href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/hiraizumi">Hiraizumi</a>, with his body found alongside his father <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/fujiwara-no-hidehira/">Hidehira</a>, grand-father <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/fujiwara-no-motohira/">Motohira</a> and great grand-father <a href="https://historyofjapan.co.uk/wiki/fujiwara-no-kiyohira/">Kiyohira</a>.<a title="Louis Frederick" href="#footnote">1</a></p>
