Sugawara no Kiyogimi
Sugawara no Kiyogimi, also known as Sugawara no Kiyotomo (菅原 清公) was a member of the Sugawara Clan living from 770-842. He was the father of Sugawara no Koreyoshi and during his life he was both statesman and minister. After visiting China he helped surpress the custom of corporal punishment and advocated for a Chinese system. He also went on the reform the daigaku in Heiankyo.
With Ono no Minemori he compiled the poetry compilation known as the Ryōun shinshū.1
