Amefutaya

Amefutaya (天両屋 – Twin Huts of Heaven) was the kami which inhabited the island of Futagonoshima, according to the kojiki. Nothing more is mentioned of him.¹

The nihongi does not give a name to this kami, simply stating

Izanami and Izanagi then produced the sea, the rivers, and then the mountains, after the Great Land of Eightfold Isles.²
